# For Contractors: Join the 905 Trades Network > How a Hamilton-area trade joins 905 Trades: the vetting standard, the exclusivity offer (every lead in your trade and area), the referral fee, and what we expect on response time. Here is the standard, the fee, and how to apply. ## The offer If your trade and your area are open, you get every lead we receive for that trade in that area. One partner per trade per area, not three or five competing for the same homeowner. No bidding, no pay-per-lead, no fee for a lead that goes nowhere. You are paid nothing to receive a lead and you pay nothing for it either; the arrangement only costs you anything on a job that actually closes. ## The standard Every partner on 905 Trades shows the same five things before the first lead is sent, and the operator does not make exceptions for volume or for a good sales pitch. - **WSIB**A clearance certificate, or a documented exemption. - **Insurance**A current certificate of liability insurance. - **HST**Registered, with a real invoice for real work. - **Google rating**4.5 stars or better across real reviews. - **Seen in person**The operator meets you and sees the work before the first lead goes out. On top of the five checks, you answer within one business day of a lead landing, and you quote on your own paper. That response time is the trade for the exclusivity above: we do not send a lead to three businesses hoping one calls back, so the one business we send it to has to call. ## The fee A referral fee is agreed in writing with each partner before the first lead. It is paid only on jobs that actually close, never on a lead that goes nowhere. Depending on the trade, it is calculated on the invoiced amount, on labour only, or as a flat amount per closed job; whichever fits the way your trade is normally priced. The site does not publish a percentage, because the number is negotiated per partner, not a fixed rate. ## What a lead looks like Each request carries a reference number that follows the job from the first email to the invoice. You get the homeowner's job details, town, timing and contact information by email, with a copy going to the operator so nothing is dropped on either side. Once a month, the closed jobs and the fee owed on each one are reconciled between you and the operator against those reference numbers, so there is nothing to dispute at settlement time. ## Trades we are adding next 905 Trades adds one business at a time, only when there is a single business the operator would send their own family to. The trades we are actively looking to fill next: painter, electrician, plumber, HVAC, roofing, windows and doors, landscaping, and post-renovation cleaning.
