What to include in the request
Include the facility location, door type, frequency of use and whether a fault has taken equipment out of operation. A clear image from outside the hazard area can help identify the system. Do not operate a damaged door to demonstrate the fault; the service team should confirm safe isolation and the next inspection step.
Identify the system without guessing
- Record a make, model or equipment label only if it is visible from a safe place.
- Describe whether the door is stuck open, stuck closed, stopping mid-travel, moving unevenly or making a new sound.
- Note whether the problem affects one opening or several, and whether deliveries or access are disrupted.
- Share a photo only when it can be taken without entering the door path or approaching moving equipment.
What the first conversation needs to settle
Ask the business whether the reported system is within its published scope and what site information it needs to assess the issue. An introduction does not diagnose the door or set a work plan. See the Commercial Garage Doorman profile for its listed systems and coverage.
