Garage Doorman Residential

What to include in a garage door repair request

For a garage-door repair request, report where the door stops, unusual sounds, visible damage and whether the opener responds. Keep people and vehicles away from a door off track or with a damaged spring or cable. Garage Doorman lists residential repairs across Grimsby, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Burlington and Oakville. See its repair information on the residential website.

What to include in the request

If the door is partly open, keep vehicles and people away from the opening. Do not pull a release cord when a door is not fully closed or try to reset a damaged spring. Explain whether the door is manual or opener-operated and whether anything is visibly off its track. The technician can confirm what is safe after inspection.

Record symptoms without testing the door

  • Say whether the door is closed, partly open or cannot move, and where it stops.
  • Describe a new sound and whether the opener responds to the remote or wall control.
  • Note visible damage, a loose cable, a crooked door or a spring that appears broken from a safe distance.
  • Keep people and vehicles away from a door that is off track or appears damaged; do not try to force it closed.

When to seek immediate help

If the opening cannot be secured or someone may be in danger, use an appropriate urgent service instead of waiting for an introduction. For a routine repair, see the Garage Doorman Residential profile and describe the observed symptoms in the request.
