Garage doors

Residential or commercial garage door: which route fits?

Use the residential route for a door serving a home garage. Use the commercial route for a facility system, loading dock or business opening. If the use is unclear, describe the building and equipment so the operator can review the request before passing it on.

Residential doors

Garage Doorman Residential publishes home garage door installation, repair and opener service. State whether the door is stuck, damaged, noisy or being considered for replacement. Keep people and vehicles clear of a visibly damaged door, spring, cable or track. A technician needs to confirm the condition before proposing a repair.

Commercial systems

Commercial Garage Doorman publishes facility door work including rolling steel, sectional overhead, high-speed doors, shutters and dock levellers. A useful request names the site type, equipment, opening or bay, operating issue and any access rules. Do not operate damaged equipment just to demonstrate a symptom.

The handoff is different

Residential requests can use the 905 Trades introduction process. Commercial garage-door requests are a direct handoff to Commercial Garage Doorman. The handoff is recorded for follow-up but carries no commercial referral fee. The customer and service business discuss capability, timing and terms directly.

When a request includes both settings

Some properties mix a residence with a commercial building or shared garage. Describe which opening serves which part of the property. The two profiles are not interchangeable; splitting the scope helps each side understand which equipment is involved.

Use the residential garage door service page or the existing commercial garage door handoff.
